Dear sister....erm...I don't think the christians claim that jesus is the "son of god". If u take a look at their bible, jesus refer to himself as the "son of man". The metorphor "Son of god" is a description of how he wants our relationship with God (Allah) to be, like father and son. Not as peers, nor as slaves, servants for God loves us like a son, even though we (mankind) sin against him from time to time.

God the eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. Through Him all things were created, the character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity is accomplished, and the world is judged. Forever truly God, He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived and experienced temptation as a human being, but perfectly exemplified the righteousness and love of God. By His miracles He manifested God's power and was attested as God's promised Messiah. He suffered and died voluntarily on the cross for our sins and in our place, was raised from the dead, and ascended to minister in the heavenly sanctuary in our behalf. He will come again in glory for the final deliverance of His people and the restoration of all things. (John 1:1-3, 14; Col. 1:15-19; John 10:30; 14:9; Rom. 6:23; 2 Cor. 5:17-19; John 5:22; Luke 1:35; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 2:9-18; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Heb. 8:1, 2; John 14:1-3.)

Acts 9:20-22 (NIV) At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God. All those who heard him were astonished and asked, "Isn't he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn't he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?" Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Christ.

Luke 1:35 (NIV) The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

Luke 4:41 (NIV) Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, "You are the Son of God!" But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Christ

I agree, the words "son" and "children" are MOST of the time a generalization meaning God's people...but I do believe that when it refers to Jesus as the son of God that he is truly his son, in every sense of the word. I haven't seen where He has specifically referred to any other specific person as "his only begotten son". As for scriptures...John 3:16 is a good place to start.

John 19:7
The Jewish leaders replied, "By our laws he ought to die because he called himself the Son of God."

John 20:31
But these are written so that you may believe [ Some manuscripts read may continue to believe.] that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life.

Romans 8:3
The law of Moses could not save us, because of our sinful nature. But God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours, except that ours are sinful. God destroyed sin's control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

the word son, sons & children of God mean an honor servant of God.

the word son does not mean son as we understand it today, translation problems, John and other people have destroyed the real Bible.
