It's because of your age. Once you get to 26yrs it usually comes down. Try getting a quote from Tesco insurance, they do discounts for all sorts of things.........I got a discount because I have kids! They might do you a discount because you have pass plus. Worth a try.

Not sure what pass plus is, but car insurance is sky high until you've proven that you are a good driver. If you keep a clean driving record, your rates should drop significantly when you're 25. I hate to tell you but you'll have to suck up the high cost of insurance for a few more years. Drive a cheap car and just get the basics for your insurance.

Because you are young, inexperienced and much more likely to take risks behind the wheel than someone who is older and/or has a family to worry about. Single males under the age of 25 are considered to be driving time bombs as far as the insurance companies go...double that if you drive a red car.

Pretty sure it is the part about being 19 years old. Insurance premiums are always crazy high for younger drivers, mainly because they are at higher risk to need to file a claim.

Because you are a male under 21. I didnt have my own insurance or car til I was 21 - insurance was £1200 if I was 20 and when I was 21 it was £750.

Buy a banger. Start with 3rd Party only and work it up through the years until you're 25 thenComp cover should be more acceptable, plus by that time if you have 4 years NCD you can get your NCD protected too. Also progress with your car through the years also until you can get one that actually warrants a higher premium.

Because they're 19.

and possibly because there's a relatively new (less than 5 years old) car involved, which requires the 19 year old to carry Collision coverage.

because 19 year olds are the ones that cause alot of accidents
it is a reckless age where you are still a teenager and are likely to drive fast for the fun of it, thinking you are jenson button whilst listening to really load music with a rediculous base speaker in the boot and those neon strips under the car totally oblivious to what is happening around you.
by a bike and pedal about we will all be safer for it.
