Thats a good question.
You must remember, everyone is different. I had 3 different chemos, and I had one of the hardest ones you could have. With me, I was down the whole week. I was super tired, and I literaly for like 5 days would just lay on the couch, after that week, I felt better. I had 4 1/2 mos of chemo ev 3 weeks.
I did get these mouth sores the 2nd time. My chemo wasn't as bad, I was tired, but I could do normal things a little better.
The sores were like a million little cranker sores.
They have meds for it, but my insurance didn't know if it would pay for thme. It was like $700. Luckily my dr had samples of it. I do not remember the name, but they were in a blue packet and you mixed it with water and used it like mouth wash.
Good luck
God Bless

I had ACT a while back, during the AC, the fatigue got progressively worse, after the fourth time (and last, thank God) I didn't leave the house for 8 days.

But the Taxotere was much better in that regard. No fatigue, indeed one time I came home from chemo, had dinner, and then went off to the gym and did my normal (i.e. heavy) workout.

Never had any mouth sores. It may have helped that I was REALLY careful about oral hygiene during my chemo. We're talking toothbrushing immediately after every meal, plus a glass of hot water with as much salt as possible dissolved in it, to gargle with and even rinse out my nose with - and all this even at restaurants. It was really worth it though.

The Taxotere, on the other hand, did give me pretty bad heartburn. But it got progressively better over time.

The fatigue was a drag, but kept up with my usual routines, continued to exercise and rested when I needed to. The mouth sores were minimal and there are lots of things they can give you to help with them... to reduce pain and prevent them from lessening your food intake.

i had MASSIVE mouth sores due to methotrexate. i was hospitalized for 3 weeks and i didnt eat anything for 2 of them. i was on major amount of morphine. Alot of it was a blur, but it was painful. They were scared for a while that i wasnt gonna make it. they gave me this new drug. i cant quite remeber what it was called (GPRS or soemthing). it was a risk because it built my bone marrow up some and at the time i was being treated for leumkemia. but thankfully it worked. i never took food for granted again after that! haha
