I think it is just people putting a face with the problem.

I think people do support the troops, even when it does not appear they do. When people speak their minds, protest the war, and the occupation, it is the highest show of support for the troops. They may not realize it while they do it, but they are excersizing their freedoms that are granted to them by our troops.
Yes it would be easier to see, hear and understand if these same people showered the troops with thank you, and applause, however if that happened we would never hear of it. The media is Anti troops, and therefore will only show the people that are against the war. The Cindy Shehans and the Michael Moores will get the all the media attention. While the people that support the troops will get none.

Because they are ignorant. We fight to defend their right to spout off about anything and everything.

Also to say that you support the troops not the war is frankly impossible. When Americans speak against the war they create a political climate in which we are unable to perform our jobs.

Frankly many in the United States military do not agree with our reason for being in Iraq. That said we are there and want to leave that nation a better place then when we found it. (If you ask the average Iraqi it already is better. No secret police taking people in the middle of the night because of their ethnicity, religion etc.) We are there and must stay until stability is reached.

This is a crazy argument - just because one is against a war that our troops are in, does not mean one does not support our troops. "Our troops" is not the same thing as "the war."

If you are in the car with the family and your father is driving the car in the wrong direction, and you point this out and ask him to turn around, what does that mean? That you hate your father? That you don't support your family? Of course not.

As someone who was drafted during the last great military fiasco,I feel empathy for the troops, but respecting the judgment of anyone not bright enough to avoid joining any military controlled by the idiot currently sitting in The White House, is a stretch.

I am a soldier and I feel that most people people do support the troops. Those who don't confuse a soldier who's doing his job with someone who enjoys doing his job. I went to Iraq because I was ordered to. I didn't want to spend a year risking my life for people who don't know what to do with the freedoms we're hoping to provide and who also do not show much interest in learning.

As for the idiot who calls soldiers killers, I am proud to do my part to ensure that you have the right to express that ignorant, self-righteous and cowardly opinion.

I agree. If people supported the troops, they'd be home by now.

(Seriously, though, Say what? It seems to me that people ARE supporting the troops, whether liberal or conservative. Nobody blames the troops. They blame the government, which is why we'll have a Democratic congress in Novemer.)

if they do not support the war they would not support the troop as for the troop they had the right not to join the military at the first place

I believe most support the troops. There is a far left wing faction that would love to see the military gone all together. John Kerry and Hillary Clinton are both of that believe.

I think you've got it all wrong, tiger! I haven't read anywhere, or heard on the news, that Americans don't support the troops. The war, on the other hand, is getting less and less popular.

The liberal media has been keeping these so called atrocities alive, but this is what the liberal media does. These GI's accused of certain war crimes are yet to be tried, yet the media has them guilt, already.

Being anti-war does not make you ant-troop. The administration screwed up and the price for that screw up is not just in the billions of dollars. But in the lives of our sons, daughters, brothers and fathers. We want our troops home NOW. and that is the ultimate pro-troop position.
