In the early stages you get nervous/butterlies everytime you think of that person and you cant get them out of your head .. later on it takes a form where you care more about that person then yourself....Those are the two most basic ways to tell in my opinion.

It`s a really hard thing to be sure of. Before I met my bf, there were SO many times I thought I was in love and every relationship I had before him I truly believed I was in love...but come to find out, I didn`t even know what love was until him. He taught me and nothing has ever felt like this before. I can`t really explain it well but it`s like when I look at him I see my destiny, my fate and it feels like I`m exactly where I was supposed to be my whole life. And at the same time I feel relaxed, excited, ecstatically happy, and extremely loved and cared about. I know this is a kind of vague discription but I don`t know how to put into words the way that it feels. My advice for you is just be careful. Love is a tricky thing and a lot of times you can`t be sure and will be fooled into thinking it`s love when it isn`t. When it`s real and true, you will just know....it will be very obvious and feel like nothing you have ever felt before. And you will be happier than you have ever been in your life. Good luck! I hope some day you find what I have and get to feel this for yourself. Happy hunting!! And one more thing...just keep in mind, sex does not equal love. Lots of my friends make that mistake and always end up getting hurt. Be careful. :-)

It's kind of hard to know but you will, because you first have to get over your infatuation of that person. Then go from there, the one way I knew was our connection when he hurt I did, if he was sad I was even if we weren't together. Probably sounds a little dumb but hey that's my story.

When every minute and everything you do, in your mind are all him/her, you are in love.
If you feel excited, butterflies in your stomach kind of feeling when you are dating him/her. Then you are in love.
