Yep it works fine.just make sure you cook it out when your bringing the cream to the boil

i usally mix the essence with the sugar and whisk in the egg yolks and add the cream

a tea spoon to about 1 litre of cream is right id say

dont cook at any higher than 100 degrees!

Pod is definately the better choice for flavour, followed by essence, and flavouring the bottom of the list.
