The meaning of our religions and beliefs is that we build a model of self and world within our minds to orient ourselves towards existence and explain existence to self.

Dr. Robert S. DeRopps noted that organized religion is the oldest con game. All have "pay the priest". He says no one can get a refund if he isn't satisfied with the heaven for which he paid much to these conmen. How true! A priest or preacher is like a flim flam man who poisons the water supply of a town and sells antidote. To "believe" means to be convinced something is true without proof. Gullible people want to believe something. It may be some religion, PeTA, Greenpeace, etc. I want to know, not have groundless beliefs. That takes much mental effort. True believers are too lazy for that. Religions and beliefs have no substantial meaning.
