I have no reason to be unhappy, everything is fine - I am going to Paris, I have an apartment, I will be finished with my thesis soon...Still, I just feel like crying but I can't... I wish I actually could, maybe I would feel better if I cried. Maybe it is this whole Good-bye process - leaving universtiy, quitting my apartment... Maybe I am just tired...Any suggestions, how I can kick myself out of the hole I am stuck in??? No, it doesn't help to tell myself that I am lucky and that I should be happy...

You are contemplating changing an established routine (school) and are facing an uncertainty in the future..It is a considerable transition and is leaving a fun and carefree life style into one of facing the world, in your new venture.. Perhaps a bit scared would be a word that would fit in here. There are probably some pretty mixed feelings included.

happiness or unhappiness are not a things of outer world,,, let's take an example... u lose 500($, rs.,...any currency) then u will become very unhappy at the same next moment if u will find 1000($, rs., any currency) u just become happy. why?.. if u can not see the movie(u wanted to see it immediately) on TV u will become unhappy at the same next moment if u will get ticket of that movie for cinema u r happy... so the outer worlds only helps u to make ur emotions visible which are in u...but it is also true that u r made from the experience that u have been passed out so if situations are in ur favour and u r unhappy then u have to cry to release these emotions,,,and wait a little...u will be OK.

I notice you're going through a lot of changes. Which in turn require a lot of goodbyes, it's not easy. Saying goodbye throughout our lives brings back painful memories of early separation and short lived ideal situations that have passed. Unavoidably we pass through this kind of mournig with each separation or change in later, adult life.
Now saying that your feelings point to depression, well it's plainly naive and rush. If you feel this way for the next 6 months to a year, maybe but if it's something recent, just give yourself some time and keep in mind that it may be painful to leave some things behind but in time the excitement will come back, as you settle in your new life situation(s).
Good luck!

The first thing I would suggest would be to stop thinking about the things that are "fine" and try to concentrate on whatever is NOT fine. No matter how much you tell yourself that you should be happy, you are clearly not and you need to figure out why. The answer might also be chemical, in which case there might be no rational reason. In either case, I highly recommend seeing a professional at least once. There is no shame in it and it can seriously help.

Maybe its the "good-bye" thing or maybe you are depressed. You need to chill out stop worrying about what might happen tomorrow and what never happened yesterday. Go hang out with some friends, better yet go to a hot spot you never been to ( a club, restaurant even the board walk would be nice....) meet new people thats a great way to take your mind off present activities that could weigh you down. (GOOD LUCK)!

Oo-lah-lah.
Instant solution.
Suspend for a 24hr period your awareness that you're ACTUALLY GOING TO LIVE IN PAREE... (*)
Obsess in its place about going to live and study in downtown Detroit.
After the 24hr period is up, re-acquire the previous Parisian awareness.
Voila'.
Nirvana.
I'll Garh-on'-tee...
(*) It can't be done with some effort. And say hello to Montmartre for moi.
But seriously dear. listen to me.
The greatest trouble we get ourselves in is rooted in a single human weakness:
That of taking onesself TOO seriously. We need to wrap our arms around the fact that we can err, and do so to our detriment.
Living is hard enough already. Don;t make mountains our of molehills unless you got a real mountain to clmb, but that's rare.

You probably have clinical depression (that's the kind with no apparent cause which is why it has nothing to do with your circumstances). See a doctor. To help yourself, make sure you eat healthily and take lots of exercise - diet and exercise have been shown to help alleviate depression. Good luck.

it could be just that you're stressed out a little bit with the changes that are happening in your life.
if this feeling continues, please see a doctor. you may have an emotional disorder. therapy would help a lot, and if necessary, medication can too.

You probably have depression. You can have depression due to chemical imblance in the brain. It doesn't have to be because of things going on in your life necessarily.

It's because you're off drugs. You need to sniff coke every day to keep the good time going.
