marinate it overnight in your favorite marinade....heat up your barbecue, wait until it's good and hot, (gas grill)....throw it on and sear it on high for about 5 min....lower the heat to medium and cook on both sides and test with knife and fork looking inside until your desired redness....let it stand for 5 minutes before slicing so meat will retain it's juices....cut on the bias as thin as you can. Also, buy top round, not bottom round...much more tender....

I always cook it under the broiler of the oven or on the grill. I don't use a specific recipe but here are a few hints:
Score with a fork all over the meat.
Shake on some meat tenderizer.
Put on a dry rub or a marinade, (I like to try different kinds, whichever you like. Even Italian dressing is a good marinade.)
Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. (I prefer to marinate at room temperature.)
Broil or grill to medium rare, (a little pink inside). London broil is too tough when it is well done.
Let it rest after cooking for 10 minutes before carving.

Marinate over night in Catalina dressing. Grill 5-7 minutes per side so it is medium to medium rare. Slice thin across the grain.
The problem with London Broil is if you over cook the meat it gets very tough. If you cook it right though, it is one of my favorite cuts of beef. It is reasonably priced, lean and has lots of flavor.

i like to broil my london broil, my favorite cut of steak, while it is still frozen. this gives the meat a delicious charbroiled taste while preserving the juices inside. it keeps the meat from becoming dried out and allows a rarer doneness. i am told that master chefs do the same procedure in restaurants.
