My doc just gave me Ultracet.....who here has tried this? I am horrible with meds, and am afraid to take it since I react badly to most. He prescribed it for the pain in my shoulder (it is torn) but I don't know what to expect while taking it. Thanks.

it is a mild narcotic similar to Ultram. It is synthetic in nature and may have different anelgesic properties as well as inert ingredients. Tylenol vs. Asprin.. As with any narcotic pain releiver I strongly suggest that this drug not be abused. Witdrawl is a nightmare.. And recovery rates of narcotic abuse is very low.

here's what i found for you
Acetaminophen and trimodal are both pain relievers. The exact way that Ultracet works is unknown.
• Ultracet is used for the short-term (5 days or less) management of pain.
• Ultracet may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
lots of drugs can be used for different things i was once prescribed a sleeping tablet that could be used as an anti psychotic and mild anesthetic, the way multi purpose drugs effect you depends on the dosage
if you use it the way your doc prescribed it you should be fine

I believe that it is the generic form of percocet, if so then it is a narcotic. So you can expect to become drowsy and euphoric, I would recomend eating before you take it or it can make you dizzy. Be sure to monitor your intake of it as well because like all narcotics it is also very addictive. If all you done was tear a muscle or a ligament I would suggest that you stck to motrin and tylonol.

This combination medication is used to treat short-term pain (5 days or fewer). Acetaminophen works by blocking or reducing the feeling of pain. It can also reduce a fever.

Tramadol belongs to a class of drugs known as opioid analgesics. It works on a part of the brain to block or reduce the feeling of pain. It may also change the balance of some natural chemicals in your body (norepinephrine and serotonin), an effect that may help reduce pain

You aren't that old to be having that kind of shoulder pain for an issue. And needing this kind of medication for someone your age isn't great either. How'd it get torn?

That is a very mild pain reliever. It will not cause drowsiness, or have any side effects. Hope it helps the pain. It never worked for me.

It's probably like a generic cheaper version of perkaset (spelled wrong). It's just a really strong pain killer...
