you need a soldering iron that gets much hotter than a regular iron. the melting point of silver solder is much higher. its been a long time since i have used the stuff, so i dont remember what type of iron i used, or what the melting point is.

1.) First get a heatproof mat.
2.) Then get a soldering iron and heat it up.
3.) Put the iron together with solder near the pad you want to solder.
4.) Wipe the lacey ball of solder on a damp piece of paper towel as it can be dangerous.
5.) Carry on
Id recommend a mask as the fumes of burning solder are carcogenic

Buy silver solder rods. Using acetylene torch, you heat up your workpiece until cherry red and apply the solder rod whilst keeping the workpiece at the same temperature by appling the flame as and when req'd. Silver solder runs very easily so should move into the joint by itself or you use the flame to push it around the joint!

see banksify , just add one thing before you solder make sure your joints are cleaned with wire wool or the like silver solder is generally easier to do and is good for joining different metal i.e brass and copper but the joints need to be clean as silver solder doesnt run when it hits dirt and can be a right ***** if you dont clean first---preparation-preperation-preperation
