There were eggs long before chickens.
Dinosaurs laid eggs, for example, and birds evolved from dinosaurs (a chicken is a bird).
Whatever bird chickens evolved from laid eggs, so whether you draw the line in the sand and say "here was the first chicken", well, that chicken had a mother who laid the egg.
Therefore eggs came before chickens

Most definately chicken, because the chicken is more likely to evolve for many years to become a chicken, which lays eggs.

The EGG had to come first.
Chickens have not always existed on earth. They (like us) evolved from other creatures.
One day an "almost chicken" laid an egg which became the first ever chicken.
It couldn't happen any other way.
Unless you meant which oneI prefer, which would also be egg because it was first!!!
Regards
