It has been said (see my previous question) that in order to be a true prophet of god, ALL their prophecies have to come true. But this is not the case with Joshua and Ezekiel:
Joshua said that God would, without fail, drive out the Jebusites and Canaanites, among others (Josh. 3:9-10). But those tribes were not driven out (Josh. 15:63, 17:12-13).
Ezekiel said Egypt would be made an uninhabited wasteland for forty years (29:10-14), and Nebuchadrezzar would plunder it (29:19-20). Neither happened.

Are you seriously suggesting that Nebuchadrezzar is going to come back from the dead and fulfil the prophecy? Won't that invalidate the test of a true prophet? Every false prophet can say, "just wait, my prophecy will come true in thousands of years"

The last time I checked, there were less that 10 prophecies left in the Bible to be fulfilled. Over 1000 of them have happened.
The Russian nuclear reactor's mishap, the Messiah would come when Israel would be without kings in Israel and Judah, He would be born in Bethlehem, go to Egypt as a child, He took our understanding of the Hebrew feasts into a new dimension, the 10 northern tribes, plus Simeon and Judah would go into Captivity many times for forsaking the "Tabernacle of Shiloh." The Hebrew texts tells us who the person is.
Jeremiah in chapters 50 and 51 prophesied the beginning and the end of the Iraq/Iran wars. The Iraq part began; so because the Iraq part has not happened yet is Jeremiah a false prophet? Remember the words of Habakkuk 2:3 - "For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."
Please keep this in mind, the words "Maybe will never be found in the Bible. Now go to back to Ezekiel 29: 10-14, then read Jeremiah 50 and 51 in the context of what is happening today and that should send off your alarm bells. Instead of praying that these things happen, please pray that God will delay them.
By the way, it was Judah that was saddled with the responsibility of driving out the Jebusites and Canaanites and they turned their backs and fled because of the enemies' chariots of iron. The Israelites abandoned the sacred altars in Israel: Judges 1:19 - "And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron."
As a result, not only is part of that land decorated with an ancient Philistine name, but today, the seed of some of those same Jebusites and Canaanites are waging spiritual warfare for the same spiritual altars through human bodies . If you think that the battles in Israel are natural you had better think again.
Mark the words of this prophet: First get your map and find those two places where God had already sent angels to defend and Judah let the spirits of fear defeat them. For that, the seed of Joseph (remember he married an Egyptian and many of his kin were born in Egypt) especially Judah, the chosen, digressed from being mighty Kings to slaves for every Gentile nation--THAT IS THE BIGGEST SECRET HIDDEN FROM HIS SEED THAT WE CALL BLACK PEOPLE TODAY-- See Deuteronomy 27 and 28, even those that God concealed in isalnds of the sea that speak the tongues of their former Gentile captives. We call that remnant Caribbean people. Here is the prophecy and you are the first to get it from this messenger of God: Armageddon will begin as a regional skirmish on the same lands where Judah turned their backs and fled and will mushroom and climax in the valley of Jezreel. The amount of blood that will be shed will be unbearable to the human spirit. It will be the biggest rock concert sponsored by Satan.

Have you ever been to Chad? Have you ever been to Ethopia? How about the Sudan? Yeah..its pretty bad. Egypt even along the Nile isn't exactly a nice spot for a pic-nic. That whole region could be what is described as a wasteland. There's a water fountain behind every tree. It wasn't always like this..that part of the African continant used to be plush and green many centuries ago and very populated. As well, you must consider that name Nebuchadnezzer...it refers to the Nebo god of wisdom a son of another god Marduk. I don't know that this means exactly but its just a fact I thought I would throw in..as well, there were many successive Nebbies so which one was in reference to? Cuz down the road a piece Egypt came up against one such Nebbie and as you cannot know what the region or climate or population of that part of the world was at that time for all you know it was desolete for 40 years. Alot worse has happened in Egypt since then as well as its surrounding areas. Then and also you need to research your history a little better...the Battle of Carchemish in 605 Egyptians were stripped of their world power and no longer or ever since a significant force or presence in the middle east in spite of their beginnings and conquerings of Assyria and Phonecia (sp?) advancements in math, engineering, science, writing and language. It just happened to be a Nebuchaddnezzar along with the Assyrian army that did this.
As far as Joshua and this prophecy is concerned..there would be no Israel today if the Jebusites had not been driven out to at least some degree but there had been pacts and allengances with many tribes in the lands in that day which would later lead to the the idol worshiping issues of the early Isrealites and as well it might be good to note..where are those Jebusites today. There were many instances of the people of Israel angering God during this time and God is also not an unreasonable God...look at Ninivah. He didn't obliterate it cuz they took heed to His warning. If these are the only two straw grasping attempts you can come up with at a supposed inconsistancy in scriptural prophecy "failure" you then I think you have discovered only what would be conspicuous by its absence...Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

Since the end of history has not yet happened, don't you think it's a bit premature to conclude this?
Oftentimes, God did not give a complete picture to His prophets; he chose to give part of the picture to one and other parts to other prophets. This is the case with the prophecy given to Ezekiel against Egypt. To read more about the circumstances of the prophecy's fulfillment, read Isaiah 19.
Such is also the case with Joshua 3:9-10. For the most part, this prophecy will be fulfilled when Ezekiel 38 and 39 come to pass -- this will be in the very near future.

Really, according to a human, God has to send prophets that are verifiable? Maybe thats why Jesus charged the Judeans with murdering other Prophets who were not recorded in the complete history books you possess. Could it have been guilt that made them deny anything he taught as possible, and could it not still be guilt that they scream anti-semite to any and all who take a stance against their reclaiming a real desert? Obviously you are also unaware that Saddam Hussain often refered to himself as Nebuchadrezzar? I have seen the results of such denial and its not pretty, nor are the so-called prophacies. What seems to escape everyone is that In the account of Jonas, who was a prophet to a certain city, what he wispered to them did not happen because they retreated from doing what was unacceptable to God, which says to me at least that distruction is not inevitable for the whole world. Imagine that, the world could be led by God himself with out distruction of what is already pleasing to him. Pretty interesting, hey?

I would say at the time of their lifespan, the Israelites did not find their prophecies to be very false, but quite fulfilled and the ones that they didn't see fulfilled, has no doubt would be - life's not over yet! There's just something about Jezebel's extreme reaction to the slaying of the Baal prophets that makes me think she didn't find Ezekiel to be a false prophet either!
