when i mean progree i dont mean how fast it grows. westerners will convert and believe in any rubbish as long as it gives them an instant means of escape from stress.
what i meant by progress was that islam is still deeply rooted in tribalism. and when will muslims shed their tribal roots and join the modern world?

You're talking about those in the Middle East? They are stuck in the 7th century because that's when they stopped getting friendly visitors from the outside world. After that came the crusades. For the last 8 centuries or so, nobody has voluntarily gone there. They are all isolated in the middle of the desert and they are hot, sandy and pissed.

I know quite a few people like of yourself, who used to redicule and make these kind of remarks until they actually studied Islam. So I invite you to be brave and stop hiding behind covers and stories of what people tell you and really find out for yourself.
you can visit

Brother who runs this site was a Christian Priest. I met him personally. He is strongest of muslims I have ever met, with immense knowledge of Bible. So instead of just Mouthing off, it may actually help you to actually learn about something from the true source rather than being used as a loud speaker for someone else, because you know for a fact yourself, that you have absolutely NO idea what you are really talking about.

Islam has progressed! There are many sects now that are less restrictive.Same as in Christianity. And Islam has the most members worldwide than any religion.
The Middle East itself is in the process of progressing, but the wars and lack of space have made it very difficult. Be patient.

Wow, you must live in USA i guess...
Here is the logic answer.
We do not compromise with our religion. No one can change ALLAH's word unless HE say it HIMSELF to HIS Prophet. Since Muhammad is the last one, nobody else can change it. We're not like christians whose clerics has the right to speak on behalf of God. Islam forbids such thing. Christians could create or delete laws (even if it's written in the bible). History proves that kings, popes and preachers changed the essence of christianity.
However, if you really study Islam seriously, you'll find out that most of our laws (all as far as i know) are very compatible with modern life. Even if it's not, there's always logical reason behind that.

Because Islam is a backwards religion that teaches ignorance. Most Muslim clerics are stuffy old coots that are resistant to change in 100 years the diaper heads will still be living like its 1400.

What do you mean by saying that Islam hasn't "progressed"?
Progressed in which context? If the Virgin Mary was still alive, do you think she'll be running around in a bikini 'cos Christianity has progressed that much?
Your question is wanting in clarity if you expect a logical answer.

NO religion which, by its own basic beliefs MUST follow a certain path (in this case, the Q'uran) will EVER progress.
It's not a living faith and can have no further input no matter WHAT its scholars discover about man, earth, the universe and its laws.
They're stuck. Right royally stuck! ANY faith that operates on the premise of "sola scritura" is gonna wither and die. Man changes. Man grows. If his faith does not, it dies! Islam will die!

What is progress to you, What are the parameters of measurment of progress? If nudity, fashion, xxx movies, vulagrity are the one, then of course Islam is very backward. But if the parameters are peace, intergrity, harmony, love to humainty then Islam is a very progressive religion.
