I have a very nonconventional form of spirituality. When I hear the word "God" I do not think of a big man with a white beard in the sky, or even any kind of concious being for that matter. Im pretty much athiest but I do believe in God. Just that God is all that exists and all of the laws that govern it are also God. What do you guys think of this. I definitely do not believe in a concious being that has created us and that we must worship it but I think that doing our part to keep the eco system thriving is what we are here to do.

I'd say that you'd be classified as an "agnostic" rather than an "athiest" for starters (anyone else care to chime in on that one?)

I don't see God as being a big man with a white beard in the sky, either. That's way too limiting to what God really is!

You are on the right track, sort of. I suggest you read the bible. There are many religions and beliefs. The idea behind the christian belief is to follow God's word (the holy bible) and spread God's word. We are working towards the reward from living a good life, which is eternal life, in the kingdom of heaven. If you do not accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, the bible states that is the only way to enter the kingdom of heaven. So, when you leave this earth, well if you are a non believer, the other alternative is ..well...downstairs...if you know what I mean. Christians understand the importance for themselves and loved ones in believing. I guess most people think that if you live a good life then when you die, it will be ok. But, unless you accept Jesus...you are doomed. And I know people think..when you die you are dead, that is it. But as a christian I say, what if that is not the case....and when you die, your soul suffers forever and ever...because you chose to live your life without accepting Jesus. Hope this helps.

I know that God exists, and not only exists but is a personal God. God loves each and everyone of us. Many people/athiest don't believe in God because they don't put their faith and trust totally in control in God's hands. Now let me tell you a true story of an athiest, then I will tell you my experience.
There was a man who was an atheist, who hated God and everything about God. No matter how many times his friends tried to convince him about God, he will just brush them off and ignore them. There was nothing that he wanted to hear as far as God was concern. Anyhow, this man was a very good swimmer athlete, and one night he went to the pool to practice his skills swimming. It was very late and the pool auditorium was very dark. He did not bother to turn on the bright lights because he did not want to disturb anyone. As he climb to the top and was standing on the pato to jump off, he said a silent prayer in his heart for the first time. "He said, Dear God if you do exist, proved to me that you are real" .Before he could finish speaking, the guardsman came in and turn on the lights, and asks him what he was doing up there, because apparently the water was drained from pool that night. When the man looked down, all he saw was hard cement. He just thank God and prasied him for saving his life. Today, this man is a chistian, a follower of Christ who puts his trust and belief in one Most High God.
Now that is a true story that I will never forget. I have tested and proved God over and over again, and he has never failed me yet. There is so much I can say about what God has done for me, that it won't even hold in a big book. It will spill over. Everyday with God keeps getting sweeter and sweeter. I would praise and worship God because he has done so much for me.
Now you too can experience what so many people all around world has experience about what God has done for them. Proved God for yourself.

Yes, I can accept those beliefs. You are limiting your viewpoint a lot though, and ignoring a lot of the wonderful things in life. It is good that you believe in the interconnectedness of life and the existence of something that binds it all together. If you prefer 'Laws' to a bearded old man it the sky... well, so do I. On the other hand, there are unexplained miracles that are well documented and credible. So far, there has been no 'law' discovered to explain them. On the third hand, hahaha it is not necessary to explain them.

;-D To each his own. Take care.

In the book of John, God is described as being a spirit. God asks for worship - not keeping the ecosystem clean. The other is a part of respecting the creation.

If you are correct, then who invented love? I don't think the Big Band and Darwin explain love.

God created man in his own image, and withheld only two things: 1) eternal life, and 2) the ability to discern right from wrong. Those were the two trees in the Garden of Eden. We currently lack the first, but we do have the second (however, imperfect).

about the remarks of some always refering to God as a white bearded man. Listen I believe in the Holy Trinity ans as Jesus Said; I and the Father are one, who has seen me has seen the Father. In the Revelation of John, the Glorified Jesus was portraited as a magnificent 'being' to start of eyes like fire etc. read it and try to imagine. You'll be awed.

First I would say that you shouldn't worry what others think of your view, as long as you are happy with it. Secondly I applaud your thinking that we must keep the eco system going, it is in very sorry shape and needs all the help it can get. As long as you are content with your view and it doesn't harm others, more power to you.

Many people thur the ages of man have created their own Gods to suit them. Sounds like you have done the same thing. Good luck with that... It's idolatry, but you can explain it to God at judgment.

Acceptable? Your beliefs don't hurt others, so how could you believe they were not acceptable?

Or are you asking whether others agree with you? (Many would, I expect.)

Those that would find your beliefs unacceptable likely hold extreme beliefs that do tread on others. I think those extreme religions should be unacceptable.
