Would you break up with someone if they wanted to quit smoking, so you quit with them. Then, you realized how wonderful life is without smoking. However, 3 - 4 months later they start smoking again. Now, it smells all over them. They smoke while riding in your car, but said they'll just roll the window down. I don't let them smoke in my house. I don't want to kiss, or have sex with them, because it does smell. They are adamant about smoking. What would you do?

If it is that repellant to you, then your partner should understand and act upon it, if you have told them. If you explain how much it bothers you and they refuse to accept this or try and find a compromise that is acceptable to you, then you need to wonder where your partners priorities are. Ultimately though, if you love someone its despite their flaws (unless this is something that you simply cannot condone).

No, I would try to be as supportive as possible. My husband was addicted to drugs for fiteen years, and quit eight years ago. Now he knows I would leave him, because I am not going to live in a house with criminal activity going on. He also smokes, and wants to quit. So, because he has brought himself up so much from where he was,...I am very patient with the smoking. He agrees to smoke outside, because I would draw the line if he insisted on smoking inside. I am sorry, because they need your support, and have already tried...But if it really bothers you that much, to the point that you can't stand it, then they need to try to quit again,...to keep you if that is what it will take. Hope it all works out.

Break it off. If you don't you might get sucked back in. Smoking is disgusting and I would never date someone who smoked. They are creating a bad environment for you that is not only unpleasant, but a danger to your health. You don't deserve them. They have little or no willpower; they are weak. If you really care about them, tell them to quit again and then maybe you can talk but not until. You are a strong person and I applaud you. Good luck and stay clean!!!

I am allergic to smoke, so I would have no choice. But we all know the effects of second hand smoke, and they seem to be worse than smoking itself!

I would insist that all smoking be done out of my presence.
Your health is more important than you think.

I'd stay away. Life's too short to be suffering in a smell like that.
