Don't know what the most popular religion is, but I do know that more and more people are turning away from conventional religion and turning to spiritualism instead because they are looking for more than the indoctrine that conventional religion provides. I do believe in God, or the Divine Spirit, and we all have God in us as we are all connected together. Spiritualism is not strictly a religion, but more a way of life.

Well, now that everyone has had their say..
First religion unto itself is all man made and therefore popular in terms of what others wish to think is correct behaviour for the masses.
Religion is an institution that all people are part of where they wish to acknowledge it or not. Even the absence of religion is a religion if you think about it.
As for belief in God, of course I do, I know there are those out there who think only idiots and babies believe in someone they can't physically see or touch but there are some of us who can go past this and feel His presence.
I do not feel sorry for those that don't though, they must find their own path.

Religions offer A solution to realise God. I don't know which is the most popular but I believe each religion is equally valid. The essence of each religion is the same although the methods of practising them differs. I do believe in God. I'm a Hindu by birth, which, I feel, means it is in my best interest to promote the well being of every individual regardless of religion.

The most popular religion is Buddhism, it is the practiced in the worlds most most populated countries, China, India and everybody here in the west should realise that there is another world the east, and stop bicking and arguing and open up to the whole world and I beleive in something higher that effects our lifes I don't know if you could call it God, probably Karma would be better, I mean the things that make us in awe of the world Earthquakes, sunrises, rainbows, volcanic eruptions are worldwide, while Gods are just confined to the small minds that believe in them.

Religion is man's attempt to communicate with God. Popularity does not impress God--God is interested in obedience.
So far, God is the only extra-terrestrial that sends messengers to tell describe in detail the players in the spiritual world. Of all the forces that we respect: electricity, wind, propulsion, heat etc--God is the only force that all forces respect, the only force that is beyond calculation, so, even though other powerful forces are invisible to the naked eyes also, we can calculate the power of all the others but that of God. Like the others, we can feel the effects of His power and like the others, we need witnesses to His power, but He speaks, heals, corrects, teaches and whatever he says comes to pass. Things His witnesses wrote about over from 2000 to 5000 years ago are still being confirmed today. Another wonderful thing about God is that all the other extra-terrestrials that I have met (we call most of them evil spirits) they are terrified of Him and His witnesses. I bear witness.
Even though a particular evil being entices wicked people to burn His books, burn libraries that contained the types of things I am revealing, God invented a language that is able to store futuristic data in a form of binary code--the Hebrew language. Watch the floodgates of wisdom that is being revealed in a new set of wisdom books. The extent of knowledge theft and manipulation and the knowledge vacuum that we existed in will be revealed. Can you imagine that we only use 10% of our wisdom potential?
King Solomon was at least 10 times more brilliant than the wisest man on earth today. We still can't figure out how the ancients built the pyramids. The Dogon-- the remnant of a Lost civilization--they showed our scientists where to find Barnard's Star.

Popular would assume that people make a choice? many people are born into a religious denomination, never practise the religion, therefore to head count may not give a true reflection of popularity as you refer to it? I guess at best I am agnostic, I think of my self as spiritual rather than any nominated or organised religion, although my Cristian upbringing does have some influences on my thinking. As for A GOD? not really...

With over 1.1 billion adherents, Islam is the world's most popular single religion.
Following Islam, Catholicism, Hinduism, Protestantism, and Buddhism round out the top five.
However, there are almost 2 billion Christians in the world - divided into several subsets of Christianity.
Almost one billion people (one-sixth the world's population) are agnostic, atheists, or indifferent to religion.

christanity is most popular i assume...
i dont believe in god as a singular being / entity...
All matter is merley energy condensed through a slow vibration,
we are all one conciosness experiencing itself subjectivly,
life is only a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves...
therefore WE ARE GOD
The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question, is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey - don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride...
Mind you, we tend to kill those people.. or ignore them
