She is a well balanced and happy child with no pressures from parents or grandparents. She is also very smart. Lately she has been holding her bladder for up to 15 hours at a time, which will cause problems at some point. We are not sure what is behind this. Any ideas?

is she potty trained. if not, that might be a sign she dont want to be in dipers anymore. also she may have a uti and it hurts when she goes potty. at 2 1/2 she may not know why it hurts when she goes potty and dont want to say anythang to anyone. take her to the doctor and have a urin test done if she is potty trained. if she cant go or wont go for them they would probley use a cather and drain her that way.

Doe she do this intentionally?? I mean how do you know?In any case you are right: this is not good for her at all. A full bladder can cause infections and also elevates the blood pressure.
I would definitely have her see the doctor for advice before she gets an infection.

She is with holding her emotions and psychologicaly it may be a symptom of Mania .
You've heard of anal retentive ? That is basically it. She will hold on to her bladder functions as a way to deal with outside stresses or inward stress by retaining what comes out of her body. It is a manifistation of someone who cannot relax and may be in a state of rufusal, that being a self-power.
