I'm almost 23, & my former foster family won't allow me 2 drink, but my foster sister gave her 5-yr. old daughter wine. I want 2 try alcohol, but I'm worried about what they'd say. Thanks 2 Hurricane Katrina, I have 2 live with these people again!

Well alcohol is good for your health but it is not good to take much of it can cause you to get drunk. There is this saying that too much of a thing is a disease. Don't drink to much if you must. If you know that drinking a bottle will make you drunk you better drink a cup and if two bottles will make you drunk, you better drink one. Don't drink too much because it can cause you problem is future okay.

It's not wrong and you're old enough to go out to a bar and order something to try out. I wouldn't drink much since you do live with your foster family right now, but you can still try something. It's only wrong when you get behind the wheel after drinking, you abuse alcohol, or alcohol makes you violent. I love beer and wouldn't ever want to stop drinking it.

Actually, there is some scientific evidence that one or two glasses of red wine a day will improve ones health.

Some people do consider alcohol as bad. That is because over consumption by some people can lead to many other problems such as drunk driving and abusive behavior to name only a couple.

Minimal drinking of wine or beer is not wrong, and also better for your health. It can help prevent certain cancers and illnesses.. but only minimally. A glass (6oz) of either a day is not harmfull at all. Acohol abuse is another story. Perhaps they feel that having one glass is the beginning of abuse. Perhaps one of them once had an alchol problem, and do not want alcohol in the house.

Alcohol has its good side but mostly it shows its bad side. Alcohol disillusions one's sense of thinking and acting. This is why they tend to do stupid stuff. Particularly in the US, it has the highest rate of alcohol and alcohol related deaths. Alcohol is on the top of the ATF list. I dont mean to be judgemental, but i have seen most of the Americans or Europeans drink and make a total *** of themselves, like as if they're invincible or that they can fly.

Im sure if they're not allowing you to drink, is for a good cause, but the chances of you adhering to what they're they want you to do is minimal. So do what u feel is best for u.

Alcohol has been used for centuries. In moderation it can have a beneficial effect, while overdone, can be very destructive to the body, mind and those around you. Whether or not to drink is a personal decision, and no matter what that decision, there is always the responsibility to do it in a responsible and nondestructive manner. Whatever your decision, be healthy!

At 23 you can do what you like. There is nothing wrong with a little alcohol unless it gets out of control.
