Co-dependancy means one is dependant on both a drug and the company of one other person, usually but not always the person they are doing the drug with.

Check out a book on this from the library or buy one at a chain book store. It's a more complicated issue than you can find out here. The book, "Codependent No More", By Melonie Beaty ( that
spelling is probably wrong of the authors name)

Also, another name for co-dependence is "Overesponsible" and people who have been in a close relationship with someone with
chemical dependency often have this. Support groups for people
who are codependent are Al-anon groups if the person who is chemically dependent ( or has that kind of behavior)is still in your life or Adult Children of Alcoholics groups if the person no longer physically affects you.

I really dont know if this will help u out in anyway but sounds like somebody is in trouble and isnt really ready to admit it yet ? i dont know i could be wrong but if not this could be a bad thing. In the past ive had problems with some bad things and their was always with this certain other person,at first thats the only time i would even think of doing things that can lead to dependency but the further i went it kept getting worse for me. I started doing those things by myself and my habit became really bad and it took almost a life taking event on my part to wake up and realize what i had got myself into. Anyhow i think that dependency takes a while then boom it hits you like a smack in the face and for some its to late and maybe its just me but most of the time it involves at least two or more people especially when its ur best friend or someone you admire anyhow i might be of track of what you have asked i just spoke from experience and from the heart

ps i really hope you the best

do you keep bailing the person out, do you feel excited when you are "helping". Do you feel sad when they are not doing " thier thing". Do you think that there is something you can say or do to change the person. Do you fear "normal" relationships. are they too boring ?
