This is a rhetorical question. But i guess I'll have to add irony into the mix by answering it. The apparent answer is because we love the person deeply. We've grown attached to them and only by the grace of god was allowed to spend time (even if it was limited) with them. Another sad part is, you cry, but then you get over it, and although that person is always in the back of your mind, you slowly start to forget about them. Not as if they didn't exist at all, but life still goes on.

Because otherwise the pain would eat us up. Crying is a relief - it comforts the soul. Like a valve.
Once you start crying, you are facing the loss and you gradually getting better.
People who can not cry when the lose a loved one, they are the ones we should feel sorry for. They will suffer much much longer.

Separation pain. People who form emotional bonds are put into a kind of shock when those bonds are broken. It's even worse if it's a sudden death because you have expectations about your future relationship with this person that are suddenly ripped out as well. That shock causes a physical response.

It is only natural to cry when we loose someone we love. We will miss them very much. If they were saved, and you are saved, then you will be together in Heaven with them for all Eternity. There will be no dying there. We will live forever.

cos we miss them and coming to terms with the idea of not ever seeing someone u love ever again is painful.. crying releases the pressure so we don't all internally combust..or something similar.

We don't cry for them. They are fine. We cry for ourselves because we must live our lives without them.

Our emotions are so strong that they take physical form. Grieving is neccessary.
