I have been always tithing the gross of my wages. Now some other Christians say they are tithing nett. Although I really don't mind tithing as it is a pleasure for me I would just like a biblical proof which one is the right one? Also, migrated to another country lately and I didn't yet tithe this month. Is it correct to then a a fifth of tith to the amount this month as I didn't take out the tithe first. Or am I being to strict.
Please, don't come with arguments like God understands because I also understand it's a moral law God gives us to obey him in tithing.

to chuckufarley2a about the relocation I meant that this month I am late in bringing the tithe. Normally I bring it a few days after my payday. But now I am waiting for a taxback due this month and bring the tith then. Should I increase it by a fifth?

We should be tithing a tenth of our annual earnings before tax as we should also be "giving to Caesar what is Caeser's". We tend to tithe monthly as this is how most people are paid, but tithing is based on annual earnings, therefore if you do not tithe on a particular month, you take this into consideration the following month (like tithing double). We are told to give our tithe to God's storehouse where so that all his people may be fed - if the reason you have not tithed is because you are not settled in a Church, how about giving to somewhere which provides for others or somewhere which God has told you to give? I agree it is a law and is the only part of the Bible where God says "prove me and I will give you 30, 60 or 90 times". Hope this helps.

God NEVER specify whether it is gross or nett because God does not want you to bonded by such law.
God loves a cheerful giver. It does not matter whether it is gross or nett God looks at the heart.
If you are so concern then how about gift that you receive, treat that was given to you, discount that you get, etc. Are you going to convert them in dollar and cents then give 10% back to God? Tithing means to give back 10% of all that God gives you!

Tithe the gross, that's what God gives you and what He expects in return.
As for relocating, you are still a child of God, regardless of your location, therefore, a tenth is still in order.

The Old Testament says tithe on your increase. You have to decide what that is. It was much easier on the farm Your increase was your total harvest minus your seed. But do you see value from your gross? Your decision.

The New Testament does not have a doctrine of tithing.
Tithing belonged to the OT Law.
In the NT giving is from the heart and it has no limits.
Your giving is a reflection of your love for God, not just performing a ritual.

You are tithe the gross. Remember that poor widow who found by Elijah collecting firewood and when Elijah asked morsel of bread, she started by making execuses. He told her to make a cake for him and then make for herself and her son. This shows us it is gross tithe NOT net.

Did you find "biblical proof"?
Really I'd love to know, since I imagine net and gross was not big 2000 years ago.
