I want somewhere nice to store my dress now I've got one! :) I've tried ebay, but I don't like the look of the ones on there.
Thanks

My local dry cleaner who specialized in cleaning wedding dresses had extra bags from other brides who had had their wedding dresses cleaned and boxed.

He gave it to me free!

Just ask them nicely. I'm sure they'd oblige.

Wedding Dress Bag

You need to get your wedding dress preserved. Most of the time the place that you purchased your dress from can do it, or try your local dry cleaner. If you have your dress preserved, it will not rot, turn yellow, and will be cleaned. If you have children and they want to wear it, you can just pull it out of the box, and take it to have any wrinkles steamed out. When you get it back, you have your dress in a very pretty box that you can display.

Hope that this helps.

I'm after something too, apparently what you need is an acid free cardboard box.
DO NOT store your dress in a plastic bag because it will rot over time.

The acid free part of the cardboard box is the important bit. I've been having a look around but they seem very expensive.....about £30.

Sorry it's not a complete answer, I'll keep checking back to see if anyone helps, because it would help me too. :-)

go to a bridal shop. where ever you purchased your dress from should have them. unless you bought from ebay (like me) anyhoo, try david's bridal, or what ever is your local bridal store. They are expensive, but that's partially because they are a one shot deal so stores have to make their money upfront because few people buy more than one. Also, they are specially made to last long and with the special acid free process.

design the box - all acid free - probably expensive - but so was your dress.

these do boxes from £15.00

A lot of people get rid of their dresses these days. I'm glad there are other romantics out theere like me who want to keep their dresses as a reminder of a wonderful day.
