tat the new generation of leaders would be as wise as the old and keep the conservative way of the past like canning [ nothing barbaric about it] but at the same time be able to move forward in a technological and business sense

My wish is that human rights will be fully respected by the Singaporean government and barbaric punishments, such as caning, will be discontinued.
