Dear Dorypands, if the Queen were to visit my house i won't rush around to do mad clean up as you put it but, i will make sure that my house is tidy and orderly after all, i like a neat and tidy house myself and by so doing it shows a sign of respect for yourself and your visitor unless, you are naturally dirty then, it's okay to just leave the house as it is and don't apologize cos if you do? you had already condemned yourself i.e you knew it is not right to be dirty after all.
NB: neither would i go and lend money and precious dish in other to prepare a nice meal and serve it with the dish however, i shall offer her what i have i my house unless, i have the money to do so.
Hope this answers your question. So, have a swell day and say hi to the queen for me if, she is really coming. Thanks.
remember, in all, please be yourself.

No i wouldn't rush and do a quick clean up because i'm up early early just so as i don't have to clean/tidy during the day! But sometimes it gets a bit untidy with dogs toys everywhere and partner's things (I swear he let them to lie on purpose). Was she to turn up at the door right now, i'd invite her in (Why not) tell her to mind my younger dog's balls (Don't want anyone breaking a leg) and not to worry if she hears weird noises as she walks (Dogs squeaky toys). Was she to bring the Yorkies with her, i'd expect her to pick up if they pooped in my house. And was i to find a dirty T Shirt left there by my partner, i'd ask her if Philip does the same and if not how did she cure him from that hellish habit! O and i'd tell her she can only have T bags for her tea because that's all i've got!

I thought the Queen only visited homes...
I'd hope her mudjesty would bring the relevant cleaning revenue with her good self to clean it from t2b whilst we tootled off for a walk in the woods.
One hasn't got the naffin energy to do otherwise.

If anyone other than family and close friends were coming over I'd definently tidy up. If Her Majesty was to pop her head through the door, I would make the place spotless.

why would i clean around just for some queen? if she coming to visit my house than surely i'm not supposed to become someone else, right? so she gonna find my house the way it usually is. ummm, and yes, it's mostly always clean anyway if that's what you were refering to.

I would certainly tidy up, clean in depth and rearrange some of the decoration to make my place even more welcomin, always choosing to mantain my own style. I would also have some nice chocolates or cookies to offer to her with her tea and offer her my best cup or mug of porcelain..

As is. I live at a stable yard, so she wouldn't pay a blind bit of notice to the house, rather she would be engrossed with the stables, which are tidy all of the time, unlike the house!
