Have fix time and place for studying. Study at that fixed time only. Do not study for long time. Have short breaks in between. Do not eat much before studying. Start your study by doing something which requires physical activity such drawing a diagram, writing a paragraph etc. Understand the meaning of every sentence. Do not proceed unless you fully grasp the content. After finishing sub chapter or few paragraphs mentally note its contents. After finishing the chapter you should have over all mental picture of entire chapter with sub chapters well connected. Start your study when your mind is fresh. Do not study immediately after coming home from work or college. Body and mind both need some rest. Do not worry about study when not studying. Do not think about anything while studying.
Best of luck !

Take a supplement of Ginkgo biloba (available in most health food stores). It increases circulation to the brain, improving concentration and energy levels.
If you are on medication, consult a medical herbalist before taking anything.

don't forget to remove distractions like TV or music (except soft or classical music) that will pull your attention away. Try to set it up so that it's just you and your study material, nothing else-
