Smokey's a common name for grey cats. Suggestion - I have a friend who calls hers Ashley which is just a bit more original.

No....Smokey sounds like a cat name for males, maybe I grew up on too much "Smokey the Bear".....if you can't decide what to name her.....get some suggestions off these websites to help.

Smokey is a beautiful name, but if you feel it is too masculine, you could always call her Misty. That was my last grey female kitty's name! It's a little more feminine!

Then, when you get her a brother, you can call him Smokey!
I suppose Marlboro is also too masculine? :-) Lucky Strikes? I called my last grey boy kitty Benson - from Benson & Hedges!

Not if she's got some white on her. We had a cat that color one time and my Mom called her Mooton. Don't ask me how she came up with that name.

Yeah, that's what I named our outdoor female cat. My boyfriend's ex-wife called her "Sweetie Pie," but I like smokey better. (she is has the same coloring as your cat!)

Sounds like a cat that played and got caught on fire or something. Might as well name her charcoal lol.

Well it certainly would suit it. The most important question though is do you like it. It shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks anyway, should it?
