poeple will argue this on cuz leviticus is considered the law. We are not under the law anymore. And, unless you are jewish, you never were gonna be. However, don't dismiss it too quickly. This is a good example of how God wants us to be. If you ever read through leviticus you will get an understanding of what the culture was like back then and how God wants you to be set apart from the world. He doesn't want you to act or LOOK like the world. So, I hate to put a damper on this for you, but you probably shouldn't get a tattoo. This isn't a salvational issue, but it could be an obedience issue. So, it's still completely up to you.

I don't think there is statement in the Bible that prohibit s having a tattoo in your hand. The body that you have now will decay and a new body, a spiritual body, will be given to you in place of the one we all have now. So why spend your money on the body which you will not be yours in the future for it will turn into dust from where it was taken.
addendum:
I admit to have overlooked the verse on tattoos in the Bible, and I submit my apology on this regard. Yes there is a verse in the Bible prohibits to engrave a tattoo on your body according to Leviticus 19:28."Never cut your bodies in mourning for the dead or mark your skin with tattoos, for I am the LORD." This habit was practiced by the heathen that lived in the promised land which the Lord warned His people not adopt or follow. Nevertheless, I did not recommend to you to have a tattoo marked on your hand. Please accept my apology.

The Bible warns us against tattoos in Leviticus 19:28 (Amplified) which says, "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the Lord."

Leviticus 19:28
28 " 'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
You're only bound to this if you're Jewish though because Christians are not bound to all the laws of the Old Testament. We are part of the Christian (Christ/New Testament), not the Old Laws of the Jews.

forget the Bible part. Why do you mark up your skin? Are you worried about going to hell??? Get the tattoo! Just remember, you are not an adult yet. and you may regret it someday. A lot of young women are going to regret that tattoo ring around their belly-button.

The Bible is not even almost having the entire solutions. It turns out that only a few folks of any stripe come right here with a honest want to gain knowledge of and percentage (no less than modestly, lightly, relatively, and respectfully).

The "mark" will be with you for life. What you think is cool now, might be very embarrassing and silly in the future. I've known lots of people who now are embarrassed at their tattoos and have to cover them up.

Wait until you are 40 and if you still want one at least you will have 20 more years of no regret

Leviticus 19:28
"Do not make gashes in your skin for the dead. Do not make any marks on your skin. I am God."
And I'm not Christian.
