I could speak the words to indicate to a community of faithful believers that I am a believer in savior power. I could speak the words indicating that I am listening in prayer for guidance from the savior. If I heard something I thought was guidance from the savior then I would have to wonder whether I was hearing from the savior or hearing what I wanted to hear. I could speak the words indicating that I am looking for signs from the savior. If I saw something I thought was a sign to me from the savior then I would have to wonder whether I was seeing a sign from the savior or seeing what I wanted to see. I would have to wonder because I am the High Ideologue of the House of Ideology. I make up my mind about myself; about all I find. Under the above circumstances, I would be High Ideologue of the House of Ideology speaking words that indicate to a community of faithful believers that I am a believer without actually being a believer.
Abramic Religions have come to dominate much of the global culture because of their success in motivating communities of faithful believers to out work, out fight, and out number the rest of the world. Yet for all their success these conservative ideological traditions fail to instill a sense of high self esteem and high world esteem in the minds of their followers. Why? Because a model of self divided by a spiritual conflict between good and evil leads to low self esteem and a model of world divided by a spiritual conflict between good and evil leads to low world esteem.
Followers agree to rely upon exclusive divine revelations of spiritual knowledge first before relying on personal divine revelations of spiritual knowledge and thereby followers give up their authority to make up their own minds about self and world to conservative ideological authorities patronized by a mercenary plutocratic predatory few. This is necessary for a mercenary plutocratic predatory few to be able to have authority, power, order and control over communities of faithful believers; and justify a socioeconomic stratification of the global culture that produces psychotic extremes of poverty and wealth. With that authority, power, order and control a mercenary plutocratic predatory few leads communities of faithful believers to run a race to Armageddon. Armageddon is sold to many as a necessary final war before the good one in heaven will have victory over the evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth. As global population surges to higher numbers under the influence of communities of faithful believers motivated to out work, out fight, and out number the rest of the world, natural resources become ever more scarce. An ever more complex and sophisticated technological infrastructure becomes necessary to support the survival of the many of our global culture. This complex and sophisticated technological infrastructure is vulnerable to devastating terrorist attacks resulting in risk of liability for many.
A mercenary plutocratic predatory few preys upon the many of our global culture by both offering protection from terror to the many in exchange for gold and by creating a demand for protective services by terrorizing the many of our global culture. Thereby a mercenary plutocratic predatory few extort gold from the many in a global shakedown of epic proportions called the war on terror. In terror many are induced by a beast of a military industrial complex to buy the latest technology at this year's arms show. As the beast of a military industrial complex becomes ever more powerful the living conditions of the many deteriorate to the point were many are living in abject poverty in a desolate war zone where disease is run rampant, and famine is a fact of every day life. Communities of faithful believers may come to wish for this final war because conservative ideological authorities promise the following: Before Armageddon, the good one will rapture or transport living members of communities of faithful believers to heaven; and after Armageddon, the good one will reward those who are faithful loyal and true by resurrecting dead members of communities of faithful believers, judging members good, giving members bodies with perfect form and function and allowing members admission to a place of divine eternal bliss called heaven. As a result communities of faithful believers tend to be quite willing to go to war. The result being that these conservative ideological traditions produce both intolerant, fanatical terrorists bent on fighting evil and aggressive warmongers attacking those states deemed sponsors of terrorism. These developments are all to the liking of a mercenary plutocratic predatory few who profit in the market from sale of products and services of a beast of a military industrial complex and rule an underworld of cities and bunkers designed to withstand a catastrophe on the scale of a super volcano eruption or global nuclear war. Who wins in a race to Armageddon? Do the many win or the few? Will the few win in a race to Armageddon by taking refuge in an underworld and awaiting an opportunity to bloom as a seed of the next over world? Will the many lose in a race to Armageddon like lemmings whose breeding cycle has run it's course?
A mercenary plutocratic predatory few that profit from the sale and manufacture of the products and services of a beast of a military industrial complex are taking full advantage of Christians and other believers in Abramic religions.

I think it depends on how you do it. What are your options?
1. If you write a book, in harm in that.
2. Open a church start preaching sermons and pass the hat. No harm. (But you would probably be spotted as a fake)
3. Start a charity, but fail to help those you claim to be helping. Go to jail.
Any way, all of this sounds like a lot of work to me. You said it would be easy. Very interesting questions, however, I get the feeling that you have no intention of following through with your idea. Which I guess makes you a fake.

Where would you start? Because lately I don't see ANY Christians anymore. I see a lot of people telling people they're Christian, while they are at a pro-war ralley, or perhaps blowing up a health clinic that also does abortions. Or the Christians who have the bulk of the money, while the people that they give the money to, vote on bills to allow them to make more money? Compassionate conservatives? Coming to the aid of a hurricane ravaged bayou as long as their photographer guarantees a good photo op. The Christians who spouted the "No Child Left Behind?" philosophy when they were pandering to the teachers unions? Now it's all chllen left behind, except my Harvard bound white boy. Please vote in '06!

Yes they should stop. Its like trying to take down a 10 foot thick lead wall by drilling tiny holes in it. Its never going to budge. Your best option would be just to walk around it. I can easily spot a person that calls themselves a Christian but is either struggling spiritually or isn't really sold out. Primarily from their language, their behavior, their activities, and the behavior of their family/children.

No, there are too many christian hypocrites. Don't get down to their level of unloving behavior. They break the fourth commandment, they eat what ever junk they want, they don't really believe god is the superior being or else they wouldn't be sexists, they may have idols (people), and they believe the soul floats around after death (like computer software actually floats to the ceiling when the computer turns off...oh come on!).

When you write a 'rule book' for athiests that is recognised, followed and studied world wide and is as concise and perfect as the Bible, then maybe you'd get some due respect. People like you are just tossed around in the waves and have very little to nothing to offer except abuse, criticism and witless little jokes about things that you obviously know very little about. The Bible is there for all to partake in and learn. Don't try and tell Jesus that you didn't know about it on Judgement Day!

I find that a lot of Christians are sucked into their religion because they are suckers for guilt. If they aren't worried theirs sins will send them to hell they are worried that some kid in the Sudan isn't getting his weekly rectal exam or Pat Robertson isn't getting a new Rolls Royce for all the hard work he did this year of making people feel like crap for not donating enough. Fact is if you are in a religion just to not feel guilty then find some therapy and stop trying knocking on my door at 6pm on Saturday when I am eating....I am glad you care about my sinful ways but without god I make it a point always to live a good clean moral life free of people who only like to prey upon the weak spirits of lost souls.

Do niether please. Attempting to educate Christians is as insulting to them as a Christian Missionary coming up to you and trying to convert you (this has actually happened to me...). They come up to you, so smug and confident that they have the right way, and that they KNOW it, and start talking, like you are so scarcely attached to your beliefs you are just waiting for someone to say the right 3 sentences to sign your life away. The nerve.
Taking advantage of them, well I think that is not morally right for a number of reasons. The prominent among them being the Categorical Imperative. Immanuel Kant basically said to treat other human beings as ends rather than means to an end. People are not tools to be used to gain resources, but the other way around! Resources are tools to be used to gain relationships with people!

An athiest should start by educating himself; first of all have you done your homework? You claim to be an athiest which by definition means that you KNOW there is no God... how absurd! The best scientists are still just scratching the surface in the field of knowledge and you have the raw nerve to say you absolutely know that all the evidence shows that there is no God? That is the height of insolence, get honest at least and just admit you just don't know...

Christians have favor through the grace and mercy of the God above. As far as spotting a faker? I add the following scripture:
Matthew 7:1-20 (NIV)
17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

I think that no matter your religion (or even non-religion) it all boils down to respect. Its the only way we can all live in peace.
Atheists should not try to force their opinions on anyone else.
I dont think Ill be able to spot a faker... since we dont really carry a religion on our foreheads. Altho, with satanists you can feel their coldness and see the emptiness in their eyes. Its very sad.
