I had a fox terrier and poodle cross and she was also spotted, explain has the dog got long hair, short hair, explain what your dog looks like and how big she is

If you don't want to pay for the expense of a vet's visit.
Take her to the local dog groomer. Sometimes the larger ones let you walk in for nail clipping, they are usually very accomodating and they will be able to help you out.

If it is small probably a rat terrier or a jack russel could be one or the other if she/he is very playful and hyper.
