To understand ones true self, helps to understand others. To feel as one with nature (Life).

The Bible says that all who are saved are saints. The character of a true saint, is true love and works that come from the Holy Spirit who lives inside of the believer. This question is answered in the Bible. Instead of me writng down alot of scripture referrances, please referr to your Bible and not Yahoo. Look in the letters that Paul wrote such as the book of Ephesians give and EXCELLENT explanation of who the saints are, what our inherritance is, and our character. I mean it starts in the very first chapter and it is a fairly short book, only a few pages long but containing the best insight of the Christian character. Also check out 1 Peter.

A saint is a term to refer to someone who is a holy person. The term originates with the Christian Roman Catholic church, but has grown to be used and accepted in other Christian, religious, and even secular contexts — to refer to those who are considered to be exceptionally virtuous. Hence a "saint" (cont. with sinner) is a (usually deceased) person whose life is regarded by a community as a good example, and their life story is remembered for sake of inspiring others. It is important to note that Saints are not "worshipped" according to strict Christian terminology. Worship is reserved for God alone, whereas Saints are venerated (see veneration), respected, and viewed as role models.

As far as can anyone live without a wish for themselves? There have been some by the Grace of God who have accomplished this. The rest of us are still trying.

I do not think we have saints nowadays. Well I think a saint is person who thinks of only GOD all the time. He doe snot have any other attachment towards life be it persons or materials.
His sole purpose of life is to become one with the GOD and liberate his soul and also help people understand and believe in GOD.

According to the Bible (clearly in 1Cor.), a saint is someone who has a relationship with God. So, the character of a true saint is that of a sinner saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

1Corinthians 6:1-5
1If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints? 2Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church![a] 5I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6But instead, one brother goes to law against another—and this in front of unbelievers!

Note-after saying the "saints" will judge the world, he goes on to say, "and if YOU will judge the world, then..." Paul is equating saints with the believers. He then goes on to chide them for taking each other to court, when they should instead be handling disputes among the brethren. They were saints and they were having disputes. Why? SInners saved by grace. Why? So that none may glory in themselves, but let them who boast, boast in the Lord.

Everything, our righteousness, our ability to make right choices, our ability to exhibit "saintly" characteristics is because of God at work in the lives of those who've given their hearts to Him.

1Corinthians 1:26-31
26Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.
27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
28He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him.
30It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
31Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord

Faith, hope, love, humility.

One who practices all of the above can be perfectly selfish and perfectly selfless, all at the same time.

Being selfless allows one to faithfully share all that he has with others, in God's holy name.

But that very act, when it is truly inspired by God's grace, acts to ensure one's place in heaven, so it is also the most selfish thing one can do, as well.

Only God could be the author of such a system. And it works!

Everything we do is for ourselves. Even if you give up your life for someone else, you are doing it because that is what YOU want to do. Everyone does everything for themselves wether they realize it or not. You might give someone a gift, you are doing it maybe because it brings you joy to give to others or maybe you are trying to buy affection from another or a whole host of other possible reasons. If you clear your head and really give this some thought, you might be able to understand this the way that I do. Even if your actions in this world seem to indicate that you do nothing for yourself and everything for others, you are doing this because that is what YOU want not because that is what they want. I don't have time to articulate this concept enough to be 99 percent sure that you will understand it clearly so please spend time thinking about this and see if you can agree with me. :)

The true saint is one who has been saved by the Grace of God. You put your Faith and Trust in Him. You pray, go to church, and read your Bible. When God saved me, He changed me. I became a new person. I have no desire for sin, or being around it. You live your life apart from this world. You want to tell others what Jesus done for you, and how to be saved. You seek God for the will of your life. You put your Faith, and Trust in Him. We should, let our light shine for Jesus. you will have Love in your heart for others.

Paul in the Bible says that all of us (Christians) are saints because we have made righteous through God's grace. If you are made clean by Jesus' blood then you are a SAINT!
