I'm an atheist and I saw one when I was very ill, I think it is a hallucination mechanism, I found it interesting but not believable..I do think about it from time to time...there's an explanation somewhere.
He was really tall 8-9ft tall, naked no wings & sort of smoky looking, he was sitting on the end of my bed when I woke, he turned and looked at me then stood up & still looking into my eyes he took a few steps and vanished...

Angels were created by God to help him, even when He doesn't need help, they are more like messenger of him, they are not to different from us .There was one time that some angels paid attention to Lucifer, which name means path of light, and became part of his army. This angels are known as demons. About if you die just to see one isn't truth every day many people receive messages from angels. Have you ever been about to do something you know is bad or about to do anything and you hear this voice from withing warning you? That could be your angel. angels are a concentration of bioelectric energy. When a person has realised and accepted that they are dying, their perception changes to a more momentary and contemplatory awareness, and one of the perceptible phenomena that exist on this plane are angels. They are not invisible to normal consciousness, but the way they are perceived is different - hair on the back of your neck standing on end, for example. The greater your consciousness the clearer your perception of their existence.

I have had people ask me if i was one, most were dying or thought they were. I ask the other firefighters i work with if i glowed in my yellow banana suit (turnouts) because this was getting really odd. I always said yes to the people, if it made them feel more at piece with what was going on, i saw no problem with it.
