I don't know the verse number and all, but it was when Cain killed Abel, the first murder. It is my favorite not because of any lesson or example it shows, but, taking the bible as history rather than myth, it was the FIRST murder. I like to examine it sometimes. Why did Cain do this? Was he consumed by jealousy at his brother? What in his character, his personality, made him jealous at a simple lack of favor, and SO jealous that he would do something NEVER done before, kill! It is a fascinating perspective into the origin of this all-too-common "civilized" act that is so ingrained in our society, in concept if not in action. Destructiveness from malcontentedness.

Exodus 11:9-10
[The LORD had said to Moses, "Pharaoh will refuse to listen to you -- so that my wonders may be multiplied in Egypt." Moses and Aaron performed all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let the Israelites go out of his country.]
I like this one because God makes Pharaoh refuse to let the Israelites out of Egypt so that he can show off and bring plagues and the death of every Egyptian firstborn son. What a wonderful God, punishing the Egyptians for what he _made_ Pharaoh do.

Philippians 3:14-15 (New International Version)
14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.
