It's called True Love Waits. It's usually done in your church, usually in youth groups. I haven't done it, but a couple friends did when they were like 12. They stood at the alter with their parents and pledged to wait. They did a ring ceremony.

Good for you if you want to wait. You don't have to have a church to pledge to wait though. You can make that pledge to yourself and to God right now or whenever. If you're in a church, talk to your pastor/minister and see if they know if their church has that or if they can point you to a church that does.

Whew, I was thinking they were gonna have to get promises from the community that if they did win the pledge the community would pay what they pledged, to the church, not to them. Well maybe to them, what a cool wedding present.

You must go to a doctor and ask him/her to check your virginity and you ask for a written sertificate as your evidence. You must pledge to your God that you will maintain your virginity until you have a legal marriage. You do not go to your church. It is useless and you can swear unhonestly without proof.

i have to say that is a a very wise decision to make, and a brave one in our very hedonistic societies.i made the decision two years ago when i was 21 and gave my life to Christ.i havent regretted since then .in Africa, we have society called True Love Waits.am not a member. my point is, make the decision anyhow, get people to support you e.g. church, True Love Wais e.t.c, and reap the benefits.God bless you!

Why don't you just pledge it to God, or yourself, what's the purpose of going public?
