Most of the time, the DJ gives the bride and groom to be a list of songs that they have. That gives the couple a chance to voice concerns and also add to the list. They should be more than willing to help you if they want their day to go smoothly.

There are also websites that provide songs that can be good at weddings, you should check them out too. I've given you a few links that should give you a head start :-)

Searching "wedding songs" on Google will give you a lot like these and more.

tHIS IS JUST A PARTIAL LIST OF THE SONGS I WANT PLAYED AT MY WEDDING- I SAY HIT UP THE 70'S AND 80'S, MAYBE EARLY 90'S FOR MUSIC- AND DONT FORGET MOTOWN- UNLESS OF COURSE THEY LIKE COUNTRY MUSIC- AND THAT I CANNOT HELP YOU WITH. GOOD LUCK!
PLEASE DO NOT PLAY THE CHICKEN DANCE, ELECTRIC SLIDE OR THE MACARENA.. WHILE THOSE ARE FUNNY TO WATCH, THEY ARE INNAPPROPRIATE FOR A RECEPTION.

The DJ I am going with has pages of songs that he gave us. We went through them and marked the ones we definitley DON'T want played and other that we definitleyDO want played. We (bride and groom) are choosing our own songs to dance to. Why don't you go on some other websites and see what other dj's play?

When I got married, my DJ gave my husband and I a book of songs he had and we filled out a paper with a list of songs we wanted played. He had it outlined for the night, like the intro song, the first dance, and so on.
We had a wondreful time thanks to planning ahead. And our song was "Fight for Your Honor" by Chicago.
I would definetly try the list idea though.

First, ask your friends what they want!

Make sure you have a selection of music - all their aunts and uncles will not want three hours of drum and bass and the younger people will not want Sintra's 50 greatest hits!!!

Just play a good spread of music and do not be afraid of chessey songs - that is what weddings are all about!!
