Any black person who gets offended by that is an idiot and deserves a reality check and maybe a mirror for christmas.
However, most sane black people with a grounding in reality have no objection to the term whatsoever.

I am a Caucasian male and am not offended either way. But I must say that if you and your heritage had been discriminated for 400+ years, then you too would be angry. But then again, you can't live in the past?

I've never known a black person to get offended by the word "black". There are much meaner things that some people say.

I'm not sure who you've been talking to or who you're speaking of but I'm not ever offended by being called black because I am.
I do, however, prefer to be referred to by name.
Try using their names instead of their races.
Thats a good way to prevent offending anyone, no matter their race.

I dont know where you're from and what black people you know, but I dont get offended by being called Black, only if its said in a derogatory way such as "that black girl" or if its being used to describe a characteristic such as "acting black".

I think we should be classified as Americans, rather than by the color of our skin. IF you are from the United States of American, then you ARE American, so why do we have to distinguish each other by color. I'm pink when I'm born, I'm white when I grow up, I'm brown when I get a tan, I'm green when I get sick, and I'm purple when I die, so why do people want me to mark the space as caucasian, I'm just plain old American!

I guess because of the racist history in the US it is kind of a touchy subject, that's why people are so sensitive about words there.
In Europe or South America you can say the word and it really refers to the color, it has no racist connotations whatsoever. We can make jokes about other ethnic groups and races and nobody minds because people know that there is no harm or offense intended.

Personally, I don't care what blacks or anyone else calls whitey.
Blacks get angry and tend to be oppressed by anything remotely related to whites being the source.

I don't know. It doesn't bother me to be called white as opposed to caucasian. I think people are way too sensitive.

Always address them as a brother or a friend, they will not be offended. If you address them by race or colour they feel hurt and feel a kind of insult. Especially the while the whites address them they cannot digest easily!!!!..
