Besides sex which i can get without a gf, what good are they?
can any fairly mature female tell me (not 14 year old ranting).
For loyalty, is it better to get a dog?

You don't get a GF for the sake of having a sex partner! Get your head out off the gutter.. Most men want to have GFs becasue of a lot of reasons.. They like the girl, they wanted to know her more and sometimes it could end up because he wanted to be with her for the rest of his life.. Such possibilities are not impossible..
There are a lot more deeper meaning of being in a relationship.. Well, at least to those who take relationships seriously.. It is NOT a wate of time.. There are things which a man cannot simply tell to his friends (mainly those which makes him appear weak in front of others) and the person who would be willing to listen to them are their partners.. Again, this apply to those who looks into relationships seriously..

yes and the same applies for boyfriends.it's only necessary to have a girlfriend or boyfriend if the person has a big ego and wants to show off their hot gf or bf to their friends to make them jealous.then it's a competition of who's gf or bf is hotter and annoying verbal fights ensue.dogs are loyal but they can't reply if you want to ask a question or for advice,so basically they agree by default since they don't have a voice box,so the owner is always happy and is always right.having a gf or bf won't have the same results because one always has to have the last word;-) only get into a relationship with a significant other if you're ready for commitment and actually want communication with perspectives from a female's point of view,so that you can better understand them and they can reciprocate and try to understand you.it's not a waste of time if the person actually cares and loves the other person.this kind of love and connection is different than with normal friends.one has to experience to understand.
if no sex is involved,then that's like having a female best friend.if you're happy with that kind of relationship/friendship,then so be it:-)

If you find a women that enjoys doing the same things as you I think maybe you would enjoy the company of the opposite sex and enjoy her personality. Sex is good but when your down its nice to have someone there for you. And someone there to encourage you!
