1. nice and warm :-)
2. keep an eye on you so that he can tell when you are going to feed him
3. he owns you!
4. he loves you (awwwwww.....)
5. guarding you from killer mice (and spiders, etc.)
6. he's lonely

When i was growing up my cat used to sleep on my chest all night, it was very loving but also very funny :-)
Sometimes it was hard to breathe with her lying there, but I was too tired to care!

Cats just like to be close to the person that they love my cat loves to sleep right on the side of me or sometimes she sleeps right on my chest mostly in the mornings then she kisses my nose when I wake up letting me know she wants breakfast she's very sweet except when she brings me dead mice or live ones that's gross but that is the ultimate sign that your cat loves you their presenting you with a gift that's a fact I'm not just making it up I swear.
