He's short haired with jet black nose.....i was thinking either Neo - shelby - turbo - caine - sam..any other suggestions?

If you're from California you might name him after Arnold Schwarzenegger. You could call the dog 'black nose' in German: Schwartzennase.

Or maybe not :-} How about Sargent? That has a strong, tough feel to it.

My boyfriend wants to get a german shepherd and name him something you would associate with a little dog...fluffy, scooter, that kinda thing that way if anyone ever would break into our house he can yell "fluffy" and the burgler will expect a little thing to come running....It is a funny idea if you want to go with it. I personally wanted to name him Raiden (pronounced "Ride In" from the character on Metal Gear Solid.

I think neo is a good pick or you might like toby...both are short names and they respond to a short name better...
