pasta (use penne pasta..its a kind of shape..if you have it) with marinara sauce is always good. if you can't buy your own tomato pasta sauce..it's easy to make.

chop half an onion, and mince a few basil leaves. put a 15 ounce can of diced tomatoes in a container, add the onion and basil, and warm it in the microwave for 3 minutes. afterwards, add garlic and salt to taste.

even better is pesto pasta. you can buy pesto (basil paste) at a grocery store, but also make it.

you would require about 2.5 cups of basil, a garlic clove, 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese, 4 tbsp of olive oil, 1/3 cup pinenuts, 1/2 tbsp of salt. throw this all in a blender/food processor, and you have heaven.

option 3....cook the pasta. chop half an onion and a large tomato and put them in a saucepan with olive oil. cook this until soft, add a can of chickpeas.

These are the most freakin delicious recipes ever....tried and true. The quantities are correct.

Hope you enjoyed this edition of cooking online.

Try this:
Ingredients:
1 small butternut squash (about 1 pound), peeled,
seeded, and cut into 2-inch cubes
2 red onions, cut into large chunks
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 leeks, thickly sliced
6 ounces asparagus spears, cut across in half
10 ounces rigatoni or penne
2 cups nonfat milk
3 tablespoons flour
1/3 cup sharp reduced-fat cheddar cheese, grated
2 teaspoons coarse mustard
Salt and pepper

Preparation:
1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Place the squash and red onions in a large roasting pan and sprinkle with the garlic. Drizzle with the oil and season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss to coat the vegetables with the oil, then place the pan in the oven and roast for 15 minutes.

2. Remove the pan from the oven and add the leeks and asparagus. Toss gently, then return to the oven. Roast until all the vegetables are tender and starting to brown, about 20 minutes.

3. Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a large saucepan of boiling water according to the package instructions, or until al dente, about 10-12 minutes.

4. While the pasta is cooking, make the sauce. Measure 4 tablespoons of the milk into a medium bowl, add the flour, and stir to make a smooth paste. Heat the remaining milk in a saucepan until almost boiling. Stir the hot milk into the flour mixture, then return to the saucepan and heat gently, stirring, until the mixture boils and thickens. Simmer for 2 minutes.

5. Remove the sauce from the heat and add about 2/3 of the cheese and the mustard. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. Remove the pan of roasted vegetables from the oven. Drain the pasta, add it to the vegetables, and gently stir to combine. Stir in the sauce. Sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly over the top. Return to the oven and bake until golden and bubbling, about 10-15 minutes. Serve hot.

Enjoy your meal and have fun ;-) !!

Grocery List
In the meat section of your local grocery store should be already cooked and seasoned chicken...get that.
Then over to the grocery isles; pick up some fettucini or angel hair pasta. One box will do it.
In the sauce section; Ragu make a few flavors of alfredo sauce. Pick your preference.

Frozen food section; bag of frozen broccoli, bread sticks are in order. Peach or raspberry sorbet for dessert.
A nice bottle of sparkling white grape juice or white cranberry juice from Ocean Spray.
Ambiance with a candle and a single rose........it's not how it is made, it's the effort and it will be at an ovation level! Good luck to you!

1 - 16 oz. box medium shell pasta - cooked al dente
2 cans stewed tomatoes - regular or Italian (I use Italian)
1 - 12 oz. package sliced pepperoni (to your taste) optional
1 Tbsp margarine
(Optional) Granulated white sugar to taste (if you prefer
a sweeter sauce) A small amount will take
some of the acidity from the tomatoes.

After cooking and draining pasta, add stewed tomatoes, margarine, sugar and pepperoni. Heat throughly, serve with garlic, cheese or plain breadsticks, and a side salad .

Total time from prep to serve : 20 minutes

This is cheap, but not on taste. Very quick, easy and fulfilling!!
ENJOY!!!!!

Oh, you're gonna love this (and so will your date!) It involves a little prep work, but it's SO good.

Boil 1 lb. spaghetti according to box directions. Drain (but do not rinse) and set aside.

In a frying pan, brown and crumble 1 lb. ground beef and one large chopped onion until done. Drain grease and return to pan. Add 1 chopped bell pepper and 1 26 oz. jar of spaghetti sauce (any flavor/brand). Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, mix 1 c. sour cream, 4 oz. cream cheese (room temperature) and 3 green onions, thinly sliced.

Take a 13 X 9 pan and spray it with Pam (or gease with shortening). Put your cooked spaghetti in it and spread evenly. Spread the cream cheese mixture over that, and top with spaghetti sauce/ground beef mixture. Sprinkle 2 c. cheddar cheese over the top, cover with foil and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. remove foil and bake an additional 5 minutes.

The scoop is like this.

Pasta Fettuchini. Boiled very well.
Don't forget table spoon olive oil, salt
Black pepper
Mixed spice
Butter
Veal lightly fried in butter
Serve with white wine and a fork and spoon. That is the correct way to serve Pasta. At least in Italy it is. Good luck. Chill the wine.

Good luck. I hope you score. Works for me.
