I'm in the army and i'm currently deployed in iraq, and while we're over here we get the opportunity to apply for citizenship if we want to, but i was just wondering, how long does it take to get it?

Here is the official brochure, which says,

"You may qualify if you have served honorably for a total of one
or more years, you are a lawful permanent resident, and you will be filing your application for naturalization while still in service or within six months of being discharged."

It also says, "Every military installation should have a designated point-of-contact to handle your application and certify your Request for Certification of Military or Naval Service (N-426). You should inquire through your chain of command to find out who this person is, so they can help you with your application packet."

So it looks as if you can apply right where you are. Good luck!
