You can give her Chamomile tea, to comfort her, and help her relax...( chamomile also is used for women's menstral cramping, or after birthing.)
Chamomile tea works very well, and is safe for her. Dump it out of the teabag, and use 1 teaspoon for small breed, up to 1 tablespoon for a large breed. Mix it in a little canned food, such as Mighty Dog, or Cesar's... It will keep her happy, but reduce stress. It can be given as needed.

If your grocer doesn't carry chamomile, you can use 'Sleepy-time Tea' as it is the same, but with added herbs. Plain chamomile tastes better to a dog.

No human medicine is considered safe for cats or dogs. Ring your vet and ask if you are in doubt, but I know even half an asprin can kill a cat. If your pet is in pain she's going to need a vet. I don't think they get period pain like humans though.

You don't need to give her pain reliever for her period. It is normal for dogs, pain reliever should only be used when it is in a serious situation. Have your dog fixed if you don't want her to have her period.

Don't ever give your animals any medication designed for humans unless your vet writes them a prescription. Dogs shouldn't need any pain meds while in heat. If your dog is acting like she's in pain take her to the vet.

My sister once dated a vet who told her off the record that you can give animals the same medications as you give your kids.I would say an asprin would do the trick, but you dont say wether or not you have a huge or small dog.And how do you know shes in pain??

yes you can, but hon are you sure it's her period and not that she is bleeding because she is in season, or on heat as most people know it.
If it is her period then it would be safe to give her either panado or stopaine syrup, if you have not something like that then disprin will do

Dogs don't have periods. Sorry! Most likely...your dog is in her breeding season. Or she's in labor.
