by the way, I am not referring to pentecostals in general, there is a particular group called the "jesus only" advocates, they deny the separate persons of the Father and the Spirit

Penticostals are not a cult and do not deny the Godhead. Perhaps there may be cults that claim to be penticostal that do. Not sure what you mean by "oneness."

If you are refering to the trinity - father, son and holy spirit this is not a unique concept of pentecostals. It is a basic foundation of many Christian based religions. The concept is taught in the Bible.

Mathewoborne - I agree that is not right. What church does he belong to? I have belonged to 2 different very large multinational pentecostal denominations and none of them taught anything like that. If he were doing what Christians are supposed to be doing he would be in contact with you trying to get you saved.

Sounds almost like Jehova's Witnesses which is a cult

The only requirement to being a christian is believing and accepting Jesus as your personal savior.

I guess I have never heard of them.. I do like most of the Pentecostals churches. Let's rock and roll! If they deny the Godhead they sound like a cult.

I can say a friend of mine who I knew since I was six is a pentecostal.

I miss him because he is not allowed to associate with me.

segregation is the biggest problem facing religeons like that.

lets call a spade a spade, it is a big cult that divides and separates people.

where in the bible does it say do not see your best friend from childhood because he is not one of you?

Yes, they are. First of all Penticostals are Christian. Now as for the whole oneness thing; it sounds like the Catholic trinity. Catholics are Christian.
