A prolactinoma is a tumor of the Hypofesis which is a gland in your brain also called pituitary gland. normally the way a prolactinoma manifest itself is through head aches, Amenorreah or missing out on a period, dizziness and decreased vision, all though I've never heard of a nose bleed it is possible that it is related.

More often than not, prolactinoma respond wonder full to dopa drugs, the problem with these drugs is that they have kinda nasty side effects, if that fails to work surgery is another option, and now with a procedure call transesfenoidal surgery, it's really a walk in the park compared to the old days

Make sure you talk about this with your doctor, what to expect from the side effects and when to decide if surgery is right for you

Classification of pituitary adenomas (an innocent tumour of glandular tissue).
Endocrine active-Prolactinoma
Secretory product- Prolactin (PRL)-a hormone secreted by the anterior (the front surface of) pituitary, which stimulates mik secretion.
Clinical syndrome-Amenorrhea (absence of the menses)-galactorrhea (excessive flow of milk), impotence.
Hyperprolactinemia (excessive prolactin in the blood) is the most frequent cause of amenorrhea and galactorrhea, and most young women with this clinical presentation harbor a prolactin-secreting microadenoma. For obscure reasons, the trumor is rare in males.
Treatment- Prolactin secreting macroadenomas should be treated by transsphenoidal microsurgical removal; massive tumors require craniotomy (opening of the skull as for the surgery on the brain), but this approach is rarely needed. For microadenomas, microsurgical transsphenoidal removal achieves excellent results in patients desiring pregnancy. Nonsurgical therapy involves administration of bromocriptine in conjunction with contraceptive measures and careful follow-up.
Please see the webpages for more details on Prolactinoma.

PROLACTINOMA IS A BENIGN TUMOR. It is caused by to much prolactin in the blood,(hyperprolactinanemia) or by too much pressure on surrounding tissue. The secreation of prolactin has to be normal before the tumor reduces. This is some of the drugs you might be prescribed, Bromocriptine & Cabergoline,. Hope this might be of use!!
