I have now been wearing my slippers at work for several weeks now. They are traditional brown corduroy ones with elastic gussets. As I work in an office, I wondered whether this would be acceptable, but they seem to look OK with my shirt, tie and trousers. So far, I have recieved only a couple of bemused comments and looks. I adore wearing my slippers, they fit snugly and are wonderfully comfy. Does anyone else wear their slippers at work? Is this OK?

I wear slippers all the time. So does my husband. But we do own the business. I guess it would depend really on the kind of clients you will want to attract into your business.

Flipflops in my country are more expensive than some rubber shoes. So its an in thing now. Havianas are the high end kind of rubbery flipflops. My low end flip flops are the ones with the islander trademark.

Why shouldn't you? If they look OK with your outfit and aren't something like those monster feet or Garfield slippers, that should be OK. I used to wander round work with no shoes on, I think that was against the health and safety rules though, so shhhh, don't tell anyone. :)

One of my friends wears her slippers at work as well. She spends most of the day sat at her desk or in the office.

If the customers/clients don't see your feet, then your boss and colleagues can't complain.

A lot of people in my office wear trainers or flip flops and no one minds as long as the job gets done.

Go for it!

I love wearing my slippers, I wore them to the supermarket the other day, didnt even realise til I noticed people looking at them but then I thought "screw you! I'd rather be walking around here in comfort!"

I think that's absolutely fine and will probably benefit your place of work as surely you perform best when comfortable. I myself have never worn slippers to work, but have worn them out shopping and it made the whole process far less stressfull due to my happy, comfy feet.

It's fine...I go a step further and don't even bother getting dressed before going to work......pyjamas and slippers mean I am nice and comfy at my desk and it saves on detergent...environmentally friendly too

Yeah it's ok.. you might even start a new trend..

Depends on the corporate culture of your office.. perhaps keep a standard pair of shoes for when you meet the CEO.
