I believe it takes 6 years to become a vet. You need a hand on experience before become a real vet, therefore, you need to work for internship if you ever when to work in this field.

You have four years of regular college then four years of vet school, so eight years, just like a human doctor.

im not sure but someone once told me the university of oklahoma has one of the best veteranary programs in the country...check their website good luck
