I was wondering why there was a big bloody riot for a cartoon depiction of Muhammad in a new paper and a big scandel when the writers of South Park depicted Muhammad in a cartoon this past season? Did Muslims not care when they did it in an episode before? (Muhammad, Jesus and Buddha were depicted as Super Heros in an Episode a few years back) Or is it just NOW that they are being violent and demonstrative? Did something change or did Muslims just not notice before?

Sad but true, as a moslem myself, I sometimes wonder why my fellow moslem brothers could easily be triggered by such thing. Yes, you may wonder yourself endlessly, but one thing for sure, many moslems around the world believe that anything against Mohammad s.a.w would be regarded a blasphemy or something. You know what, I myself strongly believe that if Mohammad s.a.w were to see this, he wouldnt mind it; and you know why? Cos he was and would be still an example of Insanul Karim or a person with great wisdom. He would see it as a way of those who do not understand Islam and its teachings; my Nabi and Rasulullah Mohammad s.a.w was once thrown stones at by some angry people back then during the first era of Mecca and Medina; and it was told that Mohammad was approached by one of the Angels offering to turn the city of the people upside down. Mohammad simply said "No need, cos they don't understand"
Well, I guess that's it; hope tis might shed some light unto you, bro! Peace be upon you.

Blame our overzealous brothers for blowing things out of proportion.

As a Muslim convert, I can understand the psyche of my Muslim brothers for behaving that way. First, they do not make any form or image of Allah or the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) which is forbidden both in the Bible and Quran. Second, that cartoon was definitely distasteful and made generalizations of Muslims.

If I remember correctly the Catholic church and it's followers were also enraged at the movie "The Last Temptation of Christ" and "The Da Vinci Code". The Catholics also dissed a artist who painted an image to Jesus Christ and then dipped that image into a pail of urine.

The Jews were also very offended by a Nextel commercial which showed Hitler talking on the cellphone and ordering "The Final Solution"

So my point is...does this mean that only Jews and Christians have a right to righteous indignation?

I doubt many devout Muslims watch South Park. Those who were aware of the superhero episode probably realized it was harmless fun and probably gave the show the benefit of the doubt that it was an innocent mistake.. What made it such a scandal this time was the extra publicity and the sure knowledge that the writers knew it would be offensive to many Muslims.

dear brothers,

v all hav our beleifs and great respects for our faith in our god.

now do u know that when a person becomes a muslim he takes an oath that there is no god but Allah (Allah means supreme being, not a name of any mortal or mythlogical character).

do u knw wat islam means. it means peace and submission 2 one god.

when v become a muslim v take an oath to God that v will beleive in him, his messengers, his books, his angels and everythin he has revealed to us.

do u even know that v muslims have a strong beleive in all 1,24,000 prophets, be it adam, abraham, christ, joseph, solomon, moses, john the baptistaaron, muahmmed or zakkariya. may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon them.

i cant name all but these r the 25 most important prophets who have made this day possible for muslims all over the world.

do u even know that for us muslims it is an order from God to beleive in all his books, be it the bible, the zabur, the quran or tawrat all blessed on the prophets.

now when v beleive and respect all religions and faith dont u think that it would do u some good to even respect someones beleifs as well.

and for all those who use islam as a mask to carry their dirty intentions, may Allahs wrath befall upon them. dont u understand brother that these people are using religion as a key to trigger hate and rebellions and riots among all of us in this world.

well this is not somethin that could be solved or made understoodin just a small page.

and trust me when someone does that to other prophets as well who v muslims beleive, be it christ or abraham or just any one, u will find us muslims all stood up against it.

islam has always embraced anyone and every one. now will u be happy if somone posts ur pic in a comic book along wif pigs. i guess no.

v live her for a short while so y trouble each other and make our lives hell. life is short. make the best of it.

Well maybe you could consider the stuff that gets said about them all the time on yahoo right here. If you were getting the constant dehumanization that they are facing, with a madman christian president threatening to wipe you off the face of the earth you might start to get a bit touchy too. How would you be reacting if you were being called baby killing Christers, and got shown a cartoon of Jesus murdering or with a nuclear bomb on his head, threatening to wipe out all non Christians!

edit and I am not a muslim.

Good point. The koran says something that muhammed shall not be depicted in drawing. I don't many muslims watch South Park. I wouldn't mention it though. If you saw what those cats did to the UN embassies. You would know that this Middle Easterners don't F around.

What is your point? There is no single real pic that represents how Mohammad PBUH looked like although his description in detail is will documented and every body may imagine how he looked like. The purpose of the cartoons was to insult Muslims and they didn't represent any artistic value but just tried to initiate hatred and violence.

Denmark is a little more defenseless than the US. They were probably picking their fight too.

Muslims boycotted Danish Hams, Tuborg Gold Beer, and those oh so delicious pastries. ( This hurt Denmark?!?)

That was a hilarious episode. Matt and Trey were actually worried that THEY caused the orginal riots. Too funny.

It is never good to make fun of someone else. We should love each other. It is with that same love, that I would point out that Islam is wrong in its teraching. Muhammed found his allah in a trash heap to begin this religion. It is not the one TRUE god. Don't believe me? Look towards the bottom of this page...
