you mean why do people think of having a partner...? having a partner sometimes gives you an excuse to behave and allows you the thrill of having someone to look forward to (or to blame, if things do not go too well)

i like to have a partner because it give you someone to confide in other than the usual friends who become irritated at me asking for advice. it also gives me something to look forward to when I'm down. it is also nice just to know that there is someone that generally cares for you as a person.

because they dont want to be lonely. a partner will (hopefully) be with you always, if you're in love, you will never be lonely as that person will always be with you - in your thoughts, your dreams, every aspect of your life. people want a partner because they're scared of being lonely
