I think there's just something about the sun setting that makes everything romantic, so yes go with the sunset thing. Make sure it's not in crowd, try not to show off till she says yes. Make sure its just the two of you, be very honest about how you feel about her/ how she makes you feel. Why you want to spend the rest of your life with her. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Your idea sounds so romantic and beautiful, I would propose on the beech at sunset but on your own away from everyone else as its a very personal thing to do and you don't want pressure from anyone, the rose petals and candles sound perfect too, maybe you could have rose petals all over the place and on the bed for when you get back to the villa and have a nice romantic finish to your proposal by candlelight with a lovely bottle of champagne or wine if you don't like the champagne, good luck hope she says yes and always continue been as romantic OK.

Both ideas sound lovely. But I think the main thing is to have a mature conversation about the subject before considering proposal. Make sure that she will say yes before you ask the question.

Maybe it's just me but I would hate to be surprised with a marriage proposal, it would make me feel as if I was being forced into saying yes without careful consideration and discussion. This will affect the rest of your life, it deserves to be taken very seriously.

Wow, what a lucky woman. I'd go for the beach/sunset thing as too much can go wrong with the candles, etc. Why not go for the sun rise tho' - symbolising the beginning of the rest of your lives together. Just a suggestion. Anyway, she'd be mad to say no

Sincerely.
And creativity is a plus. I'm not against romance, but roses, the beach, and candles seem so bland.
I can't tell you exactly what to do, because I think the creativity has to come from what you know about her, but do think outside the box. And it doesn't have to be over the top either- it can be simple, as long as it's special.

Either of your ideas sound great. my boyfriend proposed last week when we were on holiday. The most important thing is to make sure that she is relaxed - give her a nice dinner and some wine, and spend some time talking about how much you love her. Then get down on one knee.
Good luck!

If she's more intimate, do it on the beach. If she's more outgoing, do it in the villa. I'm more intimate, so anything that reminds me of where we were then to where we are now would pretty much do it for me. i.e. put the ring on the first bear u gave me, make a CD of our favorite songs and ask me to marry you at the end of the CD. little personal things mean a lot to me. Originality is a biggie to me, too!
good luck ; )

You sound like you've gotten a pretty good handle on it. Friends of mine got engaged, and he picked his girl up in a limo and they drove around to all the different spots where they had met, dated, or had a milestone. Then he had them drive to a park where they had never been and he proposed to her there by a fountain.

My brother-in-law proposed to my sister and then surprised her afterward. He had called all her close friends (even the out-of-state ones) and told them to meet them at one of her favorite bars and when she got there they had a surprise party to celebrate.

I think as long as what you say comes from the heart she will love it :-)

I would love to be proposed at the most beautiful place in the whole world. In the evening on a gorgeous beach sunset (dinner picnic-take out from my favorite resturant).
I dont know about your girlfriend but i would like it if the guy was on bended knee.

advice: i dont think that you would do this but just in case.. dont just blurt it out like its a casual thing.

The idea about the roses is great.
