You could always try Melatonin. It's a sleep helper that non-addictive and you don't need a prescription for. It doesn't put you right to sleep but it makes you sleepy and tired within half an hour.

Fix yourself a good strong cup of chamomile tea..It is good for you, and you will sleep like a baby, and wake up refreshed.
I learned of chamomile tea while working as a nurse in a large birthing center..new moms would have so much adrenaline flowing that they could not relax enough to sleep..we kept chamomile stocked in all rooms...
It has a delicious flavor, that is enhanced by adding a bit of honey or other sweetener...yummmmmm
Be sure to brew for the full 5 minutes.
You will find it also as 'Sleepy-Time Tea', at any grocery store.

stay out of your bed when you aren't sleepy. When you DO get tired, go lay down, turn off the TV, and the lights (use earplugs and an eyemask if you can't get the quiet and dark that you need). If you aren't asleep in 30 minutes or so, get back up and try quiet things, like reading or listening to Very "calm" music (calm like baby lullabys, not rock bands with the volume down), do crosswords, or take a bath. When you feel tired again, Go to back to bed. Keep doing it until its time to "get up", then STAY up until it's "bed time" again. Set a specific time to "go to bed" each night, and stick to it. create a relaxing routine. get up at the same time every morning, EVEN WEEKENDS.... (Do NOT spend "sleep time" on-line)... and just keep trying. it takes more than a day or two to get your body back into the habit of resting properly...

Hi...it sounds like you maybe understress and need to beable to turn your mind off so you can sleep...have a cup of coffee about a half an hour before going to bed...this relaxes me and i am able to go to sleep without worry...if this doesn't work try something else...maybe a glass of warm milk...good luck...

To put this in under the right content - get a dog - it's a proven point that people with pets have less stress.

It could be stress or something else. I'd try meditation, yoga maybe and a little Benadryl before bed. It's pretty harmless and it makes you tired...
